Temple Solel Feeds Hungry Neighbors in Need (May 2024)
Our temple has long ensured that members of the community who need food can get it. From our inception, we have annually gathered hundreds of pounds of food during the High Holiday services, which we then deliver to the Fort Mill Care Center. Starting in 2022, we resolved to help alleviate the local hunger issues through direct action. We have served at the Community Cafe and the Bethel’s men's shelter. Temple Solel and Temple Kol Ami Kids Together (April 2024)
The two Fort Mill Based congregations, Temple Solel and Temple Kol Ami, hosted a joint youth group event at Stars and Strikes. This gathering aimed to introduce our young people to the broader Jewish community in South Carolina. Despite the small size of each temple, both are brimming with individuals passionate about ensuring our children recognize and cherish their heritage. The Partnership of Temple Solel and Grace Presbyterian Church (March 2024)
The congregations of Temple Solel and Grace Presbyterian Church joined in an unusual experiment 18 months ago. Temple Solel would move our services to their location. That was nothing new. Many temples without their own buildings lease space from a church. But this was going to be different. There were great hopes for this potential partnership. We planned to work together on social outreach projects, invite each other to services and social events, and create joint programs. That was the plan, but no one knew how these optimistic ideas would unfold in reality, or if they would come to fruition at all.
