Temple Solel was started by a small group of fourteen individuals in 2011, who were searching for meaningful Jewish fellowship and community in Fort Mill, SC. The first High Holy Day services were held in 2012, and Temple Solel has continued to evolve over the past decade. “Solel” means “Pathfinder”, and we have established our path to being a welcoming Jewish congregation.
We are currently the only Reform synagogue in Fort Mill to be affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ), and we are officially registered in South Carolina as a 501c3. We take pride in truly offering what the URJ refers to as “Audacious Hospitality”. You will always be welcomed with a smile as a member of our Temple Solel family. We recognize and embrace the diversity of Jewish families and individuals in our community.
We also believe in Social Action and giving back to our community in Fort Mill, South Carolina, and the greater Charlotte area. We are combining these efforts with our new ecumenical partner, Grace Presbyterian Church, to make an even greater impact.
We sincerely hope that we’ll have the opportunity to welcome you into our Temple Solel community. Shalom Y’all!
Temple Solel is a warm and inclusive congregation of individuals and families who embrace Judaism though worship and learning in a supportive spiritual atmosphere.
Activities maintain the spirit of Reform Judaism and are a place of spiritual growth where tradition is blended with the reality of Jewish life designed to build ties to the greater community through social action and Tikkun Olam.
