Email News Blast From Tuesday August 11th 2015

We hope you can join us this coming Friday, August 14th for Shabbat services at 7pm on the Campus of St. Philip Neri. The Torah portion is Parshat Re’eh, Deuteronomy 15: 1-15:18, and our oneg will be sponsored by the Kosofsky family.
We have some exciting news, at our Shabbat on August 28th we will have visitors from the URJ who will be filming our Lay leaders for a segment to be shown at the upcoming URJ Biennial this coming November. We thought that was it, but now Russ Cobe has been asked to also co-lead a service. Our Temple and Russ are thrilled by this honor. The expense to send a delegate is about $2200.00, so we will be putting together a fund to raise money. The Temple will cover the funds we are unable to raise.

Temple Solel High Holidays will be lay lead by our fantastic Ritual team, as they have been for the last three consecutive years. Edie and Russ are experienced lay leaders and will bring up guest speakers to help give us a wonderful and very spirtual High Holiday experience. Russ has a Degree in Religious Education with a Minor in Music from Wesleyan University. We use the High Holiday books the Wings of Awe which are fully transliterated. We always follow the Hebrew with the English translation. They both volunteer their time, this allows our temple the mitzvah of being able to offer High Holidays services at a very low and welcoming admission price which is just $50.00 for non members. For all members your membership includes your admission. We also invite all active college students and military to come free to services. Please email us at Temple Solel: info@templesolelsc.org, if you are interested in joining us.
